Production Worker – Die Casting
Benda Tool & Model Works, Inc. has an opportunity for an Entry-Level Production Worker in our Die Casting Department. Training will be provided.
This is a Union position and requires registration for union membership.
Duties and Responsibilities (training will be provided):
o Responsible for preheating dies for operation (either via water heater or igniting die chamber)
o Refilling powder lubricant or oil in machines as needed
o Perform degassing process (cleaning molten metal in pots 3-4 per day)
o Read and understand work order travelers for production instructions
o Remove gates and overflows as per supervisors instructions
o Inspect cast parts for defect, fill out “In-Process Inspection” documents as required and fill out production sheets with quantities
o Trim castings using trim press according to supervisor’s instructions
o Understand the need to handle all parts with care
o Check and verify dimensions with fixed gauges as required
o Fill and/or empty furnace when required, wearing all necessary PPEs (company provided)
o Supply die cast machine with ingots as needed, using safe handling practices
o Leak test parts as required by supervisor
o Straighten parts as required by supervisor
o Understand the need for proper part identification
Education/Requirements:
o High School Diploma or GED equivalent (preferred)
o Some experience in foundry or machine shop preferred or ability to learn if no experience (training will be provided)
o Excellent communication and listening skills
o Highly disciplined, self-motivated, reliable and punctual
o Must be able to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis
o Pushing & pulling up to 50lbs
o Repetitive use of hands and feet required
Shift/Hours:
Monday-Thursday – 10 hour shifts
Shift (early start): (3:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.) – Ability to work OT, mandatory OT as required/needed by the company
