FINISHING
Die casting surface finishing affects both appearance and part performance. Specific features such as parting lines, ejector pins, and gates are carefully considered early in the design phase. Our team will work closely with you to evaluate your project’s requirements and help determine the most effective finishing applications from various options.
High-quality surface finishes are necessary for:
- Decorative finishes
- Protection against environmental exposure
- Resistance to wear
- Insulation from galvanic corrosion
- And much more
Our standard finishing steps include:
Deburring and post-cast processes remove loose flash, round any sharp edges, and smooth and brighten surfaces. We use automated vibratory and mechanical deburring methods to achieve your project’s required finish.
Coatings for function include sealing, protection against corrosion, heat dissipation, surface performance, and insulation. Most coatings are either paint or plating-based.
Cosmetic and decorative coatings require a refined approach in die casting and post-casting finishing processes. The quality of the finish is directly affected by the quality of the surface underneath.
Some of our finishing processes include (but are not limited to):
- Glass bead blasting
- Burnishing
- Vibratory deburring
- Sanding
- Polishing
- Graining
- Buffing
- Silk screening
- Painting
- Powder coating
- Laser engraving
- Plating
- Anodizing
- Ceramic coating
- And more
